Yesterday, while speaking at a Rotary Club event in Cary, NC, Governor Bev Perdue stated, “I think we ought to just suspend perhaps elections for Congress for two years”. Now her team is backpeddling and claiming that she was joking. I'm a seminary grad, ordained minister, and recovering Christian fundamentalist. I recently completed the Clinical Pastoral Education Program at Alamance Regional Medical Center. I volunteer as a crisis intervention chaplain and occasionally provide pulpit supply in local churches.
I'm a politics and theology junkie. I'm an avid reader and my interests are eclectic. When something captures my attention, I latch onto it and read everything I can find. My house is filled with books and if there's a book sale nearby, you can probably find me there.
Making and Tinkering are in my blood and I've built many of the things in and around our home. I constantly take on new projects…metalwork, carpentry, brewing, robotics, gadgets, gardening, cooking, whatever...
I’m an active Freemason and member of Thomas M. Holt Lodge No. 492, Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of North Carolina, Chorazin Chapter No. 13 Royal Arch Masons, Greensboro Council No. 3 Royal and Select Masters, and Ivanhoe Commandery No. 8 Knights Templar.
