Friends have organized a pancake dinner to benefit my little 2 year old cousin, Parker Haynes. For those of you who may not know, Parker was recently hospitalized with fracture to his skull and serious trauma. Christiana Ayscue, who was babysitting Parker at the time of his injuries has been charged with Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. Here is a recent post with links to the news stories. When he was admitted to the hospital, the prognosis did not look good for Parker and doctors doubted if he would survive. They had to place him into an induced coma while they monitored the swelling of his brain. Parker has recovered dramatically. He was released from the hospital last week. He was at my house playing with my children just a couple of days ago.
Parker and his father, Josh, now face new challenges as they return home. Josh has been by Parker’s side throughout his hospital stay and will now have to adjust to lost wages. There are also items from Parker and Josh’s home that need to be replaced and repaired as a result of the assault. A Pancake Dinner For Parker has been organized to help Parker and Josh through this difficult time. Here are the details:
